The Lake Erie Storm men's lacrosse program fell to the Frostburg State University Bobcats today.
The Storm got out to an early lead by the end of the first quarter, outscoring the Bobcats by one for a score of 4-3. Lake Erie added six goals in the second half while keeping Frostburg to four, to go into the locker rooms at the half with a 10-7 lead.
By the end of the third quarter, the Storm had let the Bobcats back in the game, dropping four goals and only scoring one. Each team scored three goals in the fourth quarter, which brought the game to overtime. While the Bobcats scored a goal at the 3:28 mark in OT, the Storm was unable to match it, and the team fell with a final score of 15-14.
Leading today in scoring for the Storm today were Neil Gardner and Tommy Bischel with four goals each. Matt Cromie added three, and Kyle Barna added two to the Storm effort.
The Storm returns to the field next weekend on Sunday, March 1 for a matchup against no. 9 overall ranked Mercy. Faceoff is set for 12 p.m.
