Men's Lacrosse Falls In Semifinals To Mercyhurst

Box Score

(GREENSBURG, Pa.) - The season came to an end for Lake Erie with a 13-9 defeat to Mercyhurst at Seton Hill University in the G-MAC Tournament semifinals. The third-seeded Storm end the campaign at 4-10 while the No. 2 Lakers improved to 12-3.

The Green and White fell into an early hole as Mercyhurst jumped out to a 5-0 lead after one quarter of play. That lead went to 6-0 before the Storm strung a pair of scores together thanks the Nathan "Beans" Quinn and Blain Wallace on a Tim Bay assist.

From there Lake Erie would attempt to chip away for the remainder of the game, but each time the Storm scored it was answered by a goal from the Lakers. Quinn, Wallace, and Kyle Barna added third quarter goals to make the score 10-5 heading to the final frame. Quinn later added his fourth to cut the deficit to 12-8, but the Storm could get no closer.

Wallace joined Quinn as four-goal scorers for Lake Erie to earn game-high honors. Tim Bay tallied two assists, and now holds the all-time assist record in program history.

Leading the way for the Lakers was Caleb Kueber with three goals and an assist. Devin Pipher added three points on a goal and two helpers.

Conor Sharkey did well between the pipes despite taking the loss as he recorded a season best 19 saves. He faced 53 total shots on the day with 32 on goal. He also led the game with nine ground balls.
