Men's Lacrossed Falls To No. 9 UIndy

Box Score

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – The Lake Erie men's lacrosse team battled another nationally ranked opponent in No. 9 Indianapolis, but was on the short end of a 15-11 decision at Jack Britt Stadium Wednesday afternoon. The Storm (1-7) have now faced six opponents this season that have spent time ranked inside the top 12 with the Greyhounds (8-1).

UIndy took an early lead and used a potent defense to keep the Lake Erie attack at bay. The Storm eventually got on the board when Patrick Bay found the back of the net on an assist from Nathan Quinn to make the score 2-1 near the end of the first, but that would be the closest they would get the rest of the way.

The Storm did rally late to score the final five goals and six of the last eight, but time ran out on the Green and White in the fourth.

Patrick Bay led the team with three goals and two assists while his brother Tim Bay also had five points on a goal and four helpers. Matt Cromie also had a strong offensive game with three goals and an assist.

Defensively Lake Erie was paced by Bret Swan with seven ground balls. Mack Fall added four.

The Greyhounds were led by Parker Kump who scored four times and added an assist.

The Storm returns to G-MAC play this Saturday when they host Wheeling Jesuit at 7 p.m.
