(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) - The No. 5 Lake Erie (17-1, 13-1 G-MAC) used four second half goals to beat Alderson Broaddus (6-10-1, 3-8-1 G-MAC) 5-0 at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Storm made a goal early in the season to be unbeaten at home, that box has now been checked as they have defeated each team that has visited Jack Britt Memorial. 

It's the second time this season that the Storm has scored five goals after they defeated Malone 5-1. Lake Erie dominated on both sides of the ball, holding the Battlers to just five shots on goal, six fewer than the Storm, as the Storm got their twelfth shutout of the season. 

The Storm started it off early in the first half as Sander Van der Sluijs (Amsterdam, Netherlands) scored off a break started by Jonathon Carr (Sunderland, England). Carr was able to pass the ball off to Javier Borreguero (Nigran, Spain) who then crossed the ball over to Van der Sluijs for his fifth goal of the season.

After the halftime break the Storm came out looking to dominate ball possession. In the 67th minute Borreguero started a breakaway and passed the ball off to the near side of the field to Tom Pearson (Newport, Wales) who sent the ball in the middle of the field to Ayden Von Essen (Hamilton, Australia). Von Essen eventually found himself on a one on one break versus the Alderson Broaddus goalkeeper and notched his seventh goal of the year after capitalizing on the break.

With the 2-0 lead the Storm looked to continue pressing for more goals. Freshman forward Alex Saggese (Sylvania, Ohio) checked into the match and made an immediate impactconnected with Pearson on back-to-back goals that extended the lead to 4-0 in the 84th and 87th minute.

On a day that Lake Erie honored it's seniors, Ameer Saade (Beirut, Lebanon) put the final touches on the match with a shot that came from deep and blasted by the goalkeeper into the top left corner of the goal.

With the shutout, Tom John (Ahrensburg, Germany) has now recorded 12 clean sheets this season to lead the nation. He finished the game with five saves. Lake Erie finished the game with a 21-10 shot advantage. 

The No. 5 Storm has now finished the 2019 regular season and now will wait for their next opponent to open the G-MAC conference tournament.
