Storm Fall to Northwood in GLIAC Championship

MIDLAND, Mich. – The Lake College men's soccer team was defeated today by 11th ranked Northwood University, 3-0 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic conference (GLIAC) championship. 

This was the furthest the Storm had advance in the postseason in school history and end the season as the conference runner-up.

The Timberwolves scored first with a goal in the fourth minute of the game when Keaton Levock scored off of an assist by Connor Cole, to give Northwood a 1-0 advantage.  Northwood added to their lead when Adam scored with a header off of a corner kick taken by Levock, to give the Timberwovles a 2-0 advantage. 

Northwood opened the scoring in the second half when Michael Ankoviak scored off of a cross from Jack Smith to give Northwood a 3-0 advantage. Northwood held on to win the game, 3-0.    

In net for the Storm was Hugo Fauruox (Cannes, France / Lycee Bristol) he faced 17 shots, seven of which were on goal, and made four saves.

Senior Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont. / St. Mary Catholic) led the way for the Storm offense with three shots, two of which were on goal.
