Storm Defeated by Ohio Dominican

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was defeated today by Ohio Dominican, 3-2.  With the loss the Storm falls to 7-8-1 overall and 7-6-1 in the conference and with the win the Panthers improve to 3-11-3 overall and 3-10-1 in conference play.    

The Panthers struck first when Caleb Wilson found the back of the net off of a free kick to give Ohio Dominican a 1-0 advantage.  Ohio Dominican added to their lead when Michael Fragoulis scored off of an assist by Andrew Schwall, to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Panthers.  The Storm cut into the lead when Miquel Espinoza (Perry, Ohio / Perry) found the back of the net off of an assist by Joesph Munaretto (Wickliffe, Ohio / Riverside), to make the score 2-1 in favor of Ohio Dominican.  The Panthers scored before the end of the first half when Tyler Thomas scored off of a rebound, to give the Panthers a 3-1 advantage.

The Storm opened the scoring in the second half when Anthony Novak (Toronto, Ont. / St. Mary Catholic) scored a penalty kick to cut the Panthers advantage to 3-2.

In net for the Storm was Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced six shots, all of which were on goal, made three saves, and allowed three goals.

Lake Erie will be back in action when they start conference playoffs Friday (November 6th).
