Storm Victorious over Walsh, 3-1

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was victorious over Walsh University today (October 24th), 3-1.  With the win the Storm improve to 8-4-2 overall and 7-3-2 in the conference, and with the loss the Cavaliers fall to 5-9 overall and 3-9 in conference play. 

Junior midfielder Ryan Gibson (Dublin, Ohio / Dublin Scioto) opened the scoring in the first half when he scored from the left side of the box to give the Storm a 1-0 advantage. 

In the second half the Storm widened the margin when senior Stefan Martin (Surrey, England / Greenshore) scored off of an assist from senior midfielder Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) to make the score 2-0. 

Lucas Dunlop scored off of an assist by Michael Saddler in the 63rd minute for Walsh to make the score 2-1 in favor of the Storm. 

Lake Erie regained the two goal advantage when Joseph Munaretto (Wickliffe, Ohio / Riverside) scored in the 79th minute to make the score 3-1. 

In net for the Storm was junior Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced eight shots, four of which were on frame, had three saves, and allowed one goal. 

Lake Erie College will be back in action on Sunday (October 26th) when they travel to take on Malone University.
