Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team defeated Northwood University today (October 19th), 1-0. With the win the Storm improve to 7-4-2 overall and 6-3-2 in the conference and with the loss the Timberwolves fall to 9-3-1 overall and 7-3-1 in conference play.
The first half was a scoreless battle in which both teams had numerous chances to score. The Storm outshot the Timberwolves, 5-4.
In the second half the Storm opened the scoring when sophomore Stuart Campbell (Glassgow, Scotland / Glassgow Academy) finished off an Alfred Majer (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor ) corner kick with 19 minutes to play, giving Lake Erie College a 1-0 advantage.
In net for the Storm was junior Filip Ljubevski (Ajax, Ont. / Pikering) he faced seven shots, four of which were on goal, made four saves, and allowed zero goals.
Lake Erie College will be back in action when they travel to take on Walsh University on Friday (October 24th) at 7 P.M.
