PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Bolstered by its highest scoring output of the season Lake Erie College (6-6, 3-5 ECC) outlasted Chestnut Hill College (7-6, 4-5 ECC) 19-13 in East Coast Conference play at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium in Painesville, Ohio.

The Storm scoring burst was led by sophomore Trevor Tarte (Amherstburg, Ontario/Kiski Prep) with a season-high six goals.  Junior JoeyJohn French (Tully, N.Y/Tully) scored four times, junior Keegan Bal (Coquitlam, B.C/Centennial Secondary) netted three goals and sophomore Reagan Harding (Coquitlam, B.C/Centennial Secondary) scored a pair. 

Lake Erie's Bal scored just 19 seconds into the game and took a 2-1 advantage on a Harding goal at 12:18.  The Griffins did all the damage the rest of the quarter with four goals to make it 5-2 after one period. 

Chestnut Hill scored to start the second period to extend its lead to 6-2 but the Storm came charging back with four straight goals to knot the score at 6-6 as Tarte and French each scored a pair.  The Griffins stopped the streak but it did not last as Lake Erie scored three more times to take a 9-7 advantage.  Chestnut Hill scored twice in the final two minutes to tie the score, 9-9, going to halftime.

Chestnut Hill took a 10-9 advantage early in the third quarter but Bal, Tarte and junior Bill Desiderio (Lancaster, N.Y/Iroquois) all added goal for Lake Erie to give it a 12-10 lead and the teams traded goals with the Storm going to the final 15 minutes with a 13-11 edge.

The Griffins closed within one with 12:51 to play but Lake Erie scored six straight goals to put the game away.  The Storm scored three times in a 41 second span with a pair of Tarte goals sandwiching a score by Harding. 

In goal, junior Alexander Wisner (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Northview) made 14 saves.  Both sides fired away at the goal with Lake Erie holding a 49-33 edge.

The Storm will be back at Jack Britt Stadium Wednesday as they host Seton Hill University.
