Storm Leads Late on Nemec's Goal, Falls In 2-1 Battle At Urbana

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Lake Erie College (1-6) led 65 minutes into the match but two late goals earned Urbana University (2-4) a 2-1 victory over the Storm in non-conference road action. 

The Storm struck in the 35th minute when sophomore midfielder Paige Nemec (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) scored her first goal of the season with the assist coming from freshman Meghan Ambrose (Lyndhurst, Ohio).  The Green and White took that 1-0 lead to intermission. 

That lead held up until the 66th minute when Urbana's Brittany Mazzu scored on a 2-on-1 breakaway with an assist coming from Brooke Shultz.  In the 80th minute, Mazzu finished the Storm off with her second goal.

Urbana won the battle of shots, 21-11, and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks. 

In goal, sophomore Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) made eight saves.  

The Storm is back in action Friday as they kick off a GLIAC home weekend with a matchup against Grand Valley State University at 5:30 p.m.
