Tarte and Curcio's Big Days Lead Offense in Win at Walsh

PAINESVILLE, OHIO –  Freshman Trevor Tarte (Amherstburg, Ont./Kiski Prep) scored a school-record seven goals to lead the Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team to its second straight win with a 16-10 nonconference victory on the road at Walsh University Tuesday (March 15) in Canton, Ohio.

Tarte scored four times as the Storm built a 10-2 halftime lead.  Sophomore Matthew Curcio (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) scored two of his career-high four goals in the opening 30 minutes.  Lake Erie (2-1) led 6-1 after one period and scored four times in the second.

The host Cavaliers (1-1) matched the Storm with four goals in the third period. Tarte scored twice early in the fourth to put LEC up 16-6 before Walsh scored the game's final four goals to make the margin 16-10.

Sophomore Levi Jacob (Johnstown, Ohio/Johnstown) also scored twice for Lake Erie while classmate Dylan White (Brockport, N.Y./Brockport) made four saves in goal to earn the win.

The Storm opens East Coast Conference play Saturday, March 19, on the road at Molloy College.
