Lake Erie College (2-5, 0-5 GLIAC) faced a tough task for any team and it showed in a 7-0 loss to the defending national champion and No.2-ranked Grand Valley State University (6-1-1, 4-1-1 GLIAC) in Allendale, Mich.

Six different members of the Lakers scored and the Storm netted an own goal as Grand Valley scored four goals in the first half (5th, 12th, 29th, 36th minutes) and three more in the second half (61st, 64th, 77th).

Grand Valley won the battle of shots, 46-3, and corner kicks 9-0. 

Freshman Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) put forth a valiant effort in goal and made a career-high 20 saves in defeat. 

Lake Erie is in action next on Sunday, Sept. 26 when they travel to take on Ferris State at 12:00 p.m.
