Lake Erie College (0-5, 0-3 GLIAC) had its highest scoring
output of the season, but it was not enough in a 4-2 loss to Tiffin
University (2-2, 2-1 GLIAC) in GLIAC action in Tiffin, Ohio.
Tiffin scored three goals in the first 24 minutes of the game
with Ashton Campbell scoring the first two and Edison Benda adding
the third.
In the second half, Lake Erie got on the board with when
freshman midfielder Nathan Bias
(Dayton, Ohio/Kettering Fairmont) scored the first goal of his
college career when his shot deflected off a Tiffin defender and
into the net. The Dragons extended their lead to 4-1 with a
Jesse Burke goal in the 86th minute but the Storm
responded when senior defender Justin
Mihaly (Lowellville, Ohio/Ursuline) score his first goal of the
year 52 seconds later.
In goal for Lake Erie, sophomore Ricky
Carreira (Toronto, Ont./Dante Alighieri Academy) made 11
saves.
Tiffin won the battle of shots, 22-12, and corner kick, 5-1.
The Storm are in action next on Sunday, Sept. 19 when they
travel to take on Ohio Dominican at 4:30 p.m
