Box Score PAINESVILLE, OHIO – Freshman attacker Keegan Bal
(Coquitlam, B.C./Centennial Secondary) scored the game's
first goal but after that it was all Dowling College as the
third-ranked Golden Lions jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the first
quarter en route to a 20-6 East Coast Conference win over the Lake
Erie College men's lacrosse team on Saturday (April 17) in
Brookhaven, N.Y.
Bal had four goals to lead the Storm (3-6, 1-4 ECC), including
both first-half goals. He added two goals in the fourth
quarter, but Lake Erie trailed 19-4 at that time.
John McClure had seven goals and an assist and Kevin Sabo scored
four times and helped on six others for the Lions (9-1, 6-1 ECC),
who won for the seventh straight game. Dowling outshot the
Storm 44-22, including a 32-13 edge in shots-on-goal.
Kyle Larsen
(Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) and Andrew
Donatelli (Galena, Ohio/Olentangy) had the other goals
for Lake Erie.
The Storm will face its second straight top-ranked team on
Wednesday, April 21, when it travels to Erie, Pa. to play
second-ranked Mercyhurst College.
