Women's Soccer Goes Down at Saginaw Valley

Lake Erie College (2-10-1, 0-10 GLIAC) fell to Saginaw Valley State University (7-5-1, 6-4-1 GLIAC), 4-0, in a GLIAC contest in University Center, Mich. 

SVSU's kicked off the scoring when Sam Echols found  the back of the net off a pass Charley Porter in the 13th minute. Lara English found Echols four minutes later for her second goal of the match-up at the 16:51 mark.  The Cardinals held that 2-0 advantage at the break.

Echols earned herself a hat trick in the 57th minute off a pass from Shelby Wright. With four minutes to play Chelsea Dudek connected on Amanda Kady's to give the Cardinals the final 4-0 margin.

SVSU won the battle of shots, 20-2, and corner kicks, 10-0. 

In goal, Lake Erie started freshman Megan Baldacci (Cavecreek, Ariz./Cactus Shadows) who was replaced by junior Chelsea Giesen (Grants Pass, Ore./North Valley) after 26 minutes.  Each allowed two goals while Baldacci made two saves and Giesen stopped four shots. 

The Storm continues their road trip with a noon match at Northwood University on Sunday.
