Comeback Comes Up Short for Storm

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. - Trailing 3-0 in the second half, Lake Erie College mounted a comeback that came up a goal short, losing 3-2 to Pitt-Johnstown Wednesday afternoon.

The Storm only had five shots in the game, as two of them found the back of the net, the first in the 47th minute and the second in the 74th minute. Sophomore Katie Daratony (Dexter, Mich./Dexter), who had been sidelined for the beginning of the season because of an injury, returned to the starting lineup to score her first goal of the season on an assist by sophomore Katelyn Overcasher (East Canton, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas).

Junior Emma Hoskins (Fairfield, Ohio/McAuley) tallied her first score of the season by tapping in a rebounded shot in the final 15 minutes of the game. Storm freshman keeper Chelsea Gieson (Grants Pass, Ore./North Valley) had five saves.

Lake Erie (1-3) heads to West Virginia Wesleyan this Saturday at 1 p.m.
