PAINESVILLE, OH - The Lake Erie College women's soccer team concluded its season with a 3-1 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) loss to Medaille College Tuesday afternoon. The Mavericks scored two goals in the first half to go up 2-0 at the break. One of Medaille's 11 fouls for the game occurred in the box in the 58th minute, giving Lake Erie's Alyssa Bethel (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) the opportunity to slot home a penalty kick and cut the lead in half.

The Storm netted the tying goal just a few minutes after the PK, however an offsides call brought it back and kept Medaille in the lead. The Storm had a second chance to tie the game on a shot by Katie Daratony (dexter, Michigan/Dexter), but it deflected off the post in the 68th minute. Yet another close call in the 75th minute, bounced off the cross bar on a shot from Randi Blakey (Mantua, Ohio/Crestwood) before Medaille scored an insurance goal in the 85th minute.

Lake Erie finished the season with an overall record of 6-13 and an AMCC record of 3-6. The Storm's seventh place league finish just missed the qualifying mark for the playoffs.
