Storm Wins Number Seven

PAINESVILLE, OH - The Lake Erie College women's soccer team won their seventh game of the season with Saturday's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win against Penn State Altoona 3-1.

Sophomore forward Angela Bethel (Beavercreek, Ohio/Miami Valley) continued her hot streak scoring all three of the Storm's goals. The first came in the 17th minute from the left wing on a corner kick to put LEC on the board first. Altoona countered in the 35th minute when they bounced a shot over LEC keeper Heather McElwain's (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) head. A touch pass from freshman Emma Hoskins (Fairfield, Ohio/McAuley) to Bethel in the 45th minute gave Lake Erie the lead once again as Bethel added the insurance goal in the 52nd minute.

McElwain recorded seven saves in the game as Lake Erie improved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the AMCC. They host Penn State Behrend on Wednesday at 2 p.m.
