Todd Perdas is entering his second season as the head coach of the Storm women's basketball program in 2023-24.
Perdas came to Lake Erie from Fairland High School in Proctorville, Ohio. In his role as Assistant Girl’s Basketball Coach, he helped the Dragons achieve a tremendous amount of team and individual success. During the 2021-22 season, FHS compiled a 25-3 record, as well as conference, sectional, and district championships. Five Dragons (Bree Allen, Kam Barnitz, Reece Barnitz, Kylee Bruce, Tomi Hinkle) earned All-Conference honors, four (Allen, K. Barnitz, Bruce, Hinkle) were named All-District, three (Allen, Bruce, Hinkle) received All-State recognition, and Hinkle won both Ohio Valley Conference and District 13 Player of the Year.
Perdas served two stints on the women’s basketball staff at Alderson Broaddus University. In between those stints, Perdas had coaching stops at Garden City Community College, Holy Cross College, and Kansas Wesleyan University. During his time at KWU, the Coyotes were ranked as high as No. 23 in the nation and knocked off three ranked teams during the regular season. But more impressively was the work Perdas put in with his players in the classroom. The team posted a 3.49 GPA and produced five NAIA scholar-athletes.
Perhaps Perdas’ greatest success came between 2005-2009 when he was an assistant for Hall of Fame coach Robin Hagen-Smith at NAIA powerhouse Shawnee State University. During those four seasons, the Bears went 102-25, captured two conference championships, appeared in three NAIA national tournaments, and had the school’s only undefeated regular season in their storied history.
Perdas began his coaching career in 2000 as a boy’s assistant at his alma mater, South Webster High School. After two years there, he was hired as the lead boy’s assistant at Notre Dame High School. In 2004, Perdas made the jump to the collegiate level when he became an assistant for the men’s squad at Ohio University Southern. Perdas then returned to the men’s game in 2010 as an assistant at Kentucky Christian University.
In addition to all of his assistant coaching experience, Perdas also served as the Head Girl’s Basketball Coach at Saint Peter’s High School in Mansfield, Ohio from 2017-2019. There, he coached three All-Conference and All-District picks. Prior to his second year at SPHS, Perdas was promoted to Director of Athletics.
