Biography

2015: Appeared in 18 games... collected 13 groundballs and caused 11 turnovers

2014: Appeared in 14 games making on start...collected 21 groundballs and caused five turnovers...grabbed a season-high five groundballs against Wheeling Jesuit (March 26)

2013: Played in 12 games, earning seven starts, on defense as a freshman... started last six games of the regular season before injury forced him to miss ECAC Tournament... recorded seven groundballs and caused six turnovers... had two games with two GB's and caused two turnovers at Mt. Olive on 3/2/13.

PRIOR TO LAKE ERIE: Played defense for Dublin Scioto for four years...Second-Team All-Region and All-Midwest Honorable Mention selections in 2011-12...also played three years of hockey, named a Second-Team All-Academic in 2012

PERSONAL: Born May 9, 1994...son of Jeff and Kristi Smoot...father played tennis for Otterbein University... majoring in criminal justice.
