Biography

2019: Once again played in all games with 29 tackles made on the year... defended 11 passes with nine breakups and two interceptions... forced and recovered a fumble to give him three turnovers caused on the season...

2018: Appeared in every game once again and made 26 tackles on the season... became more of a defensive threat as he broke up 10 passes and blocked a kick on special teams...

2017: Played all 10 games his first season and made 28 tackles... broke up four passes... 

Prior to Lake Erie: Welch was a two sport athlete in high school as he competed in football and track.  Welch was named Defensive Player of the Year, athlete of the month, and he graduated with honors.  

Personal: Son of Tajar Welch and Yolanda Nicole Butler. Majoring in Mathematics.
