2019: Became Lake Erie's first All-American since Anthony Bilal after he was named a Don Hansen Honorable Mention... also earned Don Hansen All-Super Region I and All-G-MAC First Team honors after he made 75 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss totaling 84 yards, and nine sacks totaling 65 yards... his TFL total set a new single-season record for not only Lake Erie and the G-MAC, but was also No. 7 in the nation as well... ended the year No. 3 in the nation in tackles for loss among active players... was tied for second in the G-MAC with nine sacks... set a program record with 5.0 tackles for loss in a win against Kentucky Wesleyan... forced a pair of fumbles in the home opener against Davenport... ended the year with 17 career sacks for a new program record...
2018: Honored by the conference as he was named All-G-MAC Second Team... became more of a force on defense as he totaled 17.5 tackles for loss totaling 71 yards which included 5.5 quarter back sacks for a loss of 41... blocked two kicks on the season... made a career best 15 tackles at Kentucky Wesleyan, 13 of which were solo...
2017: Earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in his freshman season after he made 38 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in just seven games...
High School: Growel played basketball in addition to Football for East Troy H.S. He was a Point Guard for the basketball team and averaged 10pts, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds his junior year.
Personal: Majoring in Psychology, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Justin is involved with the Active Minds Club on campus at LEC. After graduation, he wants to help young athletes with mental health issues.
