Biography

Spring 2021:

2019: Became a strong leader in a resurgent Storm defense where he was second on the team with 70 tackles... formed a great backfield combo with Justin Growel with eight tackles for loss to rank No. 8 in the G-MAC... recovered a pair of fumbles on the season in games against Davenport and Walsh... had his best game come at Taylor in a 42-20 win where he made 10 tackles, two of which were in the backfield for a combined loss of nine yards... also hit double-digits in tackles against Findlay with 12... made one sack on the season in a win against Kentucky Wesleyan...

2018: Was an All-G-MAC Honorable Mention selection after he totaled 44 tackles on the season... was just shy of hitting double-digits in a pair of games at Malone and at Alderson Broaddus... picked off three passes on the year, both of which occurred in the first two games with a pair against Edinboro and another at Malone...

2017: Had a breakout rookie campaign and earned a spot on the All-G-MAC Second Team after he led the team and was No. 7 in the G-MAC with 75 tackles... four of those came behind the line of scrimmage for a total loss of 13 yards... led the G-MAC with three forced fumbles... recorded a career-best 15 tackles at home against Tiffin... hit double-figures in tackles with 10 each against Malone and Walsh...

Prior to Lake Erie: Covington was a two-sport athlete as he competed in Football and Lacrosse.  Covington was named Western Conference Honorable Mention.
