The Storm defense turned in a second-half shutout in last year's 35-10 loss, but Hillsdale took advantage of a few Lake Erie miscues to score 28 of its 35 points in the second quarter … The Storm's lone touchdown came on a 52-yard scoop-and-score by Jalen Joyce after Jordan Baker strip-sacked the Chargers' quarterback … The Storm were limited to just 151 yards of offense in the loss … Kemari Ward had a team-high 10 tackles, two tackles for loss and one quarterback hurry.

The Storm boast two of the G-MAC's top pass catchers in wide receiver Tyleik Maxwell (56.8 ypg) and tight end Devin Morgan (56.5 ypg), who rank second and third, respectively, in yards per game … Morgan is coming off the second 100-yard game of his LEC tenure after snagging a career-high 11 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown … The Toledo, Ohio, native leads the conference with an average of 5.5 catches per game … Maxwell tops the G-MAC with 227 receiving yards on 17 receptions.

First-year starter and redshirt sophomore quarterback Hunter Newell has proven he belongs under center through the first four weeks of the season … Coming off a 28-of-38 performance for a career-high 279 yards, Newell is fourth in the G-MAC with 192.8 passing yards per game … He has completed 66.7 percent of his attempts and has the second-most completions in the league with 72.
Two-way JJ …
Defensive lineman Jalen Joyce has registered 19 tackles, including a sack and four tackles for loss this season … However, the 5-foot-11, 264-pound sophomore made his impact felt on the other side of the ball last week, as he plowed his way into the end zone twice from a yard out, marking his second and third career touchdowns … It was the first time since November 4, 2023, that a Storm rusher scored twice in the same game, when Raphael Jones Jr. achieved the feat in a 43-37 loss to Kentucky Wesleyan.

Redshirt junior Quinterrius Jemison has been a defensive force so far this season, ranking among the G-MAC leaders in sacks and tackles while averaging 9.3 tackles per game … Coming off a 12-tackle effort last week, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native looks to add to his conference-leading total of 7.5 tackles for loss and 37 total tackles.

Redshirt sophomore running back Julian Means-Flewellen has impressed so far this season, ranking second in the G-MAC with 72.5 rushing yards per game … The Niles, Michigan, native has the second-most rushing attempts in the league (64) while averaging 4.5 yards per carry en route to posting 290 yards on the season.
