Lake Erie College

Painesville, Ohio - The Lake Erie College volleyball team opened up a five-match homestand on Tuesday night with a 3-0 victory over the visiting Ursuline College Arrows. LEC prevailed 30-28, 25-22, and 25-15 in the sweep. 

The Storm posted their second-highest attack percentage of the season (.293) in the win, with three players reaching double-digit kills. Allison Kirch led the charge with 18, while Nora Larson (11) and Ni'yah Fuggs (10) combined for 21 with just three errors as they both had a success rate in the .400s. 

Kylie Anderson registered 39 kills and snuck in four kills of her own, while adding 16 digs. Bella Kessler paced the Storm with 19 digs, while Cecelia Mullen dropped in a season-high four aces. 
 
Lake Erie appeared to have the first set well in hand with a 20-14 lead, but the Arrows would not go away as the two foes went well past 25 points to determine a winner. With the score level at 23-23, they would trade point-for-point until the Storm finally posted two in a row on a kill from Kirch and an Ursuline error. 

The Storm got off to a sluggish start in the second session, trailing 13-8 before a timeout was called to calm the waters. Lake Erie would respond with six consecutive points following the restart to grab a 15-13 advantage. The spurt featured four kills from Kirch along the way. It was later tied at 21-21, but the Storm would secure four of the next five points to grab a 2-0 match lead. 

It was all Storm in the third set as they hit .349 in the frame with 19 kills. LEC raced out to a 13-6 lead and never looked back en route to registering its second G-MAC win of the season. 

The result moved Lake Erie to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Storm will welcome Malone (3-6, 1-1 G-MAC) to town on Friday night for a 6 p.m. conference clash.
