Storm Soccer Setback at UIndy

Indianapolis, IN - The Lake Erie College men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at the University of Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon.

The Storm controlled the run of play throughout the bulk of the contest but were unable to find the back of the net. Lake Erie outshot the Greyhounds 14-4, which included a 6-3 margin in shots on goal. LEC also had a 9-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Neither side conceded in the first half and it wasn't till the 66th minute when the Greyhounds posted the lone goal of the game as Saul Greenwood beat Storm keeper David Ruiz Ospina into the lower right corner of the goal.

Lake Erie fought for the equalizer that never came to fruition as just moments after the UIndy tally, Florian Senf and Maddox Madrid each had shots turned away by Greyhounds netminder Rick Lammerts.

In the final minute of the match, Senf had another opportunity to level the affair but Lammerts answered the call to preserve the win.

Pavlos Charalambous, Veljko Radovanovic, and Gabriele Argint also each had a shot on frame in the setback.

LEC, which fell to 1-1 on the season, will be back in action on Thursday at Northern Michigan. The first touch is set for 3 p.m.
