INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Lake Erie track & field athlete
Alan de Falchi has been named Great Midwest Field Athlete of the Week for March 30. It marks the second time this season a Lake Erie student-athlete has earned the honor and the second of de Falchi's career, with both coming in consecutive weeks.
Alan continued his dominant start to the season with an outstanding performance this week. He captured the discus title at the Muskingum Amy Adams Memorial Invitational, breaking his own Lake Erie program record with a throw of 58.30m (an impressive 3.41m improvement from the previous week). His mark also set new meet and stadium records and now ranks as the second-farthest throw in G-MAC history.
With this week's mark, de Falchi now has the farthest throw of the season across all of NCAA DII and is just 0.49m away from breaking the G-MAC record. He will look to do so during the Storm's next meet at the Northeast Ohio Open at the University of Akron on April 9-10th.
