INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Lake Erie track & field athlete
Alan de Falchi has been named the Great Midwest Field Athlete of the Week for the week of March 23rd. This is the first time this season that a Lake Erie track & field student-athlete has received this honor, and the first of de Falchi's career.
Alan made his Lake Erie College debut this weekend at the Lee University Invitational and made his presence known immediately. He captured the men's discus title with a throw of 54.89 meters, setting a new Lake Erie program record and hitting an NCAA provisional mark. His throw also now ranks as the fifth-best in G-MAC history, making him just the second athlete to occupy a spot in the conference's all-time top five.
With his mark this weekend still 7.04 meters off from his career PR, de Falchi is sure to continue shaking up the G-MAC record books as the season rolls along.
