FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Georgia – The Lake Erie women's lacrosse team traveled to Georgia during spring break to face the Emmanuel Lions but fell short in a tough 20-5 loss. The Storm struggled to recover after an early deficit, dropping to 1-4 on the season.

Emmanuel set the tone early, scoring just 37 seconds into the game and adding seven more goals to take an 8-0 lead. Lake Erie finally broke through with 3:15 left in the first quarter on a man-up goal from Madelyn Goodrich, but the Lions responded with two more goals to close the quarter up 10-1.
Emmanuel continued to control the pace in the second quarter, extending their lead to 12-1. However, the Storm found some momentum with three consecutive goals from Goodrich, Brooke McNeal, and Reese Friesen, cutting the deficit to 12-4. The Lions answered quickly, scoring twice in the final 1:41 to take a 14-4 lead into halftime.
Lake Erie struggled offensively in the third quarter, held scoreless while Emmanuel tacked on four more goals to extend the lead to 18-4.
In the final period, the Lions added two more goals before McNeal found the back of the net for Lake Erie with 5:05 remaining. That would be the Storm's final score, as Emmanuel secured a 20-5 victory.

Lake Erie will return home to face Charleston on Saturday, March 15, at 3 p.m. Charleston enters the matchup with a 5-1 record, their only loss coming against G-MAC opponent Walsh. Notably, four of Charleston's five wins have been against G-MAC competition.
