CANTON, Ohio – The Lake Erie volleyball team hit the road to go to battle against the Malone Pioneers. The Pioneers would take a tight first set. The Storm would take the second set with extra points. The Storm would then take the next two sets for the victory. In the victory,
Gabrielle Jones posted a career high in kills, while
Dylan Fox posted career highs in assists and digs.

Set 1: The Pioneers would open with an early 8-2 lead to begin the set. Malone would then grow their lead to 16-10. The Storm would cut the deficit to 19-17 after a block from
Jasmine Heyward and
Kennady Wiley, and a kill from
Sadie Nawrocki. The Pioneers would hold on for the set 25-21.
Set 2: The Pioneers race out to an early 8-1 lead. The Storm would cut their deficit to 13-10 after a kill from Heyward and two errors. Malone would grow their lead back, bringing the score to 18-13. Lake Erie would tie the set up at 18, after five straight points with kills from Nawrocki,
Kennedy Stewart, and
Allison Kirch, and an ace from
Nicole Colombo. The Pioneers would grab the lead back with the score at 24-22. The Storm would swipe the set 27-25, taking five of the last six points with two kills from
Gabrielle Jones, two solo blocks from Stewart, and a block from Stewart and Jones.
Set 3: After the teams exchanged points, the Storm would take five of six points for a 12-9 lead with a kill from Kirch, a block from Heyward and Wiley, and aces from Kirch and
Kylie Anderson. The Pioneers would then respond with five of the next six points, going ahead 14-13. Lake Erie answered back with six of the next seven points, going ahead 19-15 with kills from Jones, Nawrocki, and Kirch. The Storm would grow their lead to 23-18 after an ace from Anderson and a kill from Jones, assisted from
Cecelia Mullen. Lake Erie would close the set out 25-20 with kills from Kirch and Heyward, each assisted from Anderson.
Set 4: The Storm would jolt ahead to an 8-2 lead, with kills from Heyward, Stewart, and Jones, and blocks from Heyward, Jones, and Kirch, with Stewart assisting in each of the three. The Pioneers would cut their deficit to two, bringing the score to 10-8. Lake Erie responded with the next five points with kills from Jones and Heyward, and an ace from Kirch. The Storm would close the set out comfortably 25-14 with kills from Kirch and Nawrocki, each assisted from
Dylan Fox.
