GREENSBORO, OH -- The Lake Erie Storm Men's Lacrosse team were in action for the second round of the playoffs on Wednesday May 1, as they traveled to Greensboro, PA to take on the Seton Hill Griffins. Lake Erie was unable to get past the Griffins, falling 15-5, ending their 2024 season finishing 8-8 overall and a 6-2 G-MAC record.
The Storm found themselves down 10-3 at half. They would finish the game with five goals and five total assists on 29 shots. Lake Erie was able to gain 22 ground balls to the Griffins 43. As a team Lake Erie went 24-29 in clear attempts and just 4-22 on face off attempts. Lake Erie and Seton Hill were dead even in turnovers with 17 apiece. The Storm caused nine Griffin turnovers.
Kevin Albright led all things for the Storm with three goals on seven shots. Andrew Cramer had one goal while Tommy English scored his first career goal in his last game as a Storm. Nathan Zurowski, Tim Woods, and Robert Weil finished with one total assist while Dawson Kindall had two total assists.
Garrett Brockmeyer went 3-16 on face offs, while Joshua Hegbe completed 1-6 in the victory. Mitch Kiebala started in goal allowing 10 total goals with three saves. Gavin Conlan came in to goal and only allowed five Griffin goals while tallying eight saves.
This concludes the Lake Erie Men's Lacrosse 2024 season giving the fans a fantastic season going 7-7 in the regular season. They also gave the fans the first home conference tournament win in program history.
