MIDLAND, Michigan -- The Lake Erie softball team continued their road trip today with a doubleheader against the Northwood University Timberwolves. The Storm were mercy ruled in both games and have now dropped their fourth-straight series.
GAME 1 - 5 INNINGS
LAKE ERIE - 2
NORTHWOOD - 10
After a lead off triple in the first, the Storm managed to hold the Timberwolves to just one run in the inning. In the bottom of the third, Northwood broke things open with a four-run inning and followed that up with a five-run inning in the fourth. The Storm scored two runs in the top of the fifth, courtesy of
Maddie Pawlak's first career home run, but the Storm were unable to add on anymore and would suffer a 10-2 loss in five innings.
In addition to Pawlak,
Emma Spahr,
CJ Garcia, and
Jasmine Gonzales each recorded a hit, with Spahr's being a double.

GAME 2 - 5 INNINGS
LAKE ERIE - 0
NORTHWOOD - 9
The Storm did not have better luck in game two as the Timberwolves put up three runs in the first inning.
The Lake Erie offense tallied two hits in the game, a fourth-inning bunt single by
Arianna Tammaro and a fifth inning single to left field by
Jordyn Hawkins.Â
Defensively, the Storm struggled, with three errors resulting in seven unearned runs for Northwood.
Starting pitcher
Sydney Murray threw four innings, surrendering five hits and two-earned runs in the loss.

The Storm now fall to 3-31 on the season and 3-17 in G-MAC play. They will now close out the season with three-straight home series and will be back in action, Wednesday, April 24th at 2 p.m. to take on the Walsh Cavaliers.Â
