Storm Late Game Push not Enough, Fall to the Timberwolves 91-100

MIDLAND, Michigan — The Lake Erie Storm traveled up North for the first game of their three game road stint. The Storm took on the Northwood University Timberwolves on Wednesday, February 21. The Storm battled late and made it interesting but would ultimately lose 91-100. This brought the Storm to 7-18 on the year and 3-8 in G-MAC play. 

The Storm had three players in double figures scoring. Jonny Manning led the way with a double-double, putting up a team highs in points and rebounds with 35 and 11. Jake Leibacher ended with 13 points and five boards. Jacob Plantz was back after his injuries kept him out a couple of games. He would finish with 11 points and a team high five assists and a team high four steals. 

The Storm finished shooting 49% from the floor, and 28.6% from behind the arch. Again the Storm struggled from the stripe and shot 76% from the foul line. They out rebounded the Timberwolves by five with a total of 35 boards on the night. They had 16 total team assists and 16 points off the bench. Lake Erie caused 13 Northwood turnovers resulting in 15 points. The Storm had 52 points in the paint and ended with 9 team steals. 

The Storm continue on the road trip with their next game on Saturday, February 24, when they take on the Tiffin University Dragons. Tip off is at 3 PM.
