Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team began their season today with matchup against the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats. They defeated the Bobcats 88-74 and now start the season 1-0 for the first time since 2018-2019.

Lake Erie got off to a hot start in the first quarter against the Bobcats and shot an impressive 55.6% (10-18) from the field and 54.5% (6-11) from beyond the arc to begin the game. Their run continued in the second as they outscored Bryant & Stratton once again and finished the half with a 49-33 lead.

In the third, they extended their lead to as much as 20 points. Despite being outscored in the second half though, 41-39, the Storm took care of business and took down the Bobcats, 88-74.

Ten different players scored for Lake Erie in the game and they were led by Kennadi Harris who dropped 16 points while shooting 6-for-13 from the field and 3-for-6 from deep. Riley Montagner was close behind with 15 of her own and led the team with four threes. Nina Shaffer had a very even statline on the day with seven points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals. On the defensive end, Megan Mares grabbed five rebounds, blocked two shots, and came up with one steal in the victory.

The Storm will be back in action on Tuesday, November 19th at home against the Clarion Golden Eagles. The game is schedule for 5:30 p.m.
