Offensive Struggles Continue for Women's Soccer | Fall on the Road to Thomas More

Box Score

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Kentucky – The Lake Erie Women's Soccer team traveled to Crestview Hills, Kentucky to battle the Thomas More Saints for their fourth G-MAC matchup of the season. The Storm's offensive struggles would continue and they would fall 0-1 in the match bringing their record to 1-6-1 and 0-4 in conference play.

The Saints defense came out strong in the first half and the Storm were unable to get a shot off. After many opportunities, the Saints scored their first and only goal of the game in the 24th minute. Freshman Morgan Vanmeter would save another close shot in the 41st minute to keep the score at 1-0.

Both teams goalies would perform well in the second half as they each had multiple saves. In the first ten minutes of the half, the Saints were unable to capitalize off three shots, with Vanmeter saving two of them. The Storm would answer back with two shots of their own, but the Saints goalie would save both of them as well. The Storm had one last opportunity to tie the game in the 86th minute, when Sophomore Kim Lorenz took a shot, but the Saints goalie came through once again with the save.

Vanmeter finished the match with six saves in net for the Storm.

Lake Erie will be back in action on Saturday, September 30th when they travel to Nashville, Tennessee to play the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans at 3:30pm.
