PEPPER PIKE, Ohio — The Lake Erie College women's soccer team wrapped up its 2026 season Tuesday afternoon, falling 2-1 to Ursuline College in its season finale.
The Arrows struck first in the 12th minute when Samantha Youngs found the back of the net to give Ursuline an early advantage.
Lake Erie responded just before halftime as Ava Moore scored in the 44th minute to even the match at 1-1. Alexia Pallas provided the assist on Moore's goal, which marked her third consecutive game with a goal and brought her season total to six goals.
Ursuline regained the lead early in the second half when Vanessa Baugatz scored in the 51st minute. The Storm continued to look for an equalizer throughout the second half, outshooting the Arrows 6-4 after halftime, but could not find another goal.
Lake Erie finished with eight shots, including five on goal, while Ursuline recorded 10 shots and three saves. Sydney Emler made three saves in goal for the Storm.
Tuesday's contest also marked the final collegiate game for seven Lake Erie seniors: Morgan VanMeter, Lilly Hansson, Aubriana Campbell, Carlie McVey, Emily Brewer, Pauline Passarge and Emler. Their contributions to the program, both on and off the field, will be missed as the Storm look ahead to next season.
The Storm conclude the 2026 campaign with an overall record of 4-9-5 and a 3-8-3 mark in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
