PAINESVILLE, OH –- The Lake Erie women's soccer team took on the Ohio Dominican Panthers for their second G-MAC game of the season. Even though the Storm had a late push, they would fall 2-1, bringing their record to 1-3-1.

The Panthers would start off the game strong and in the fourth minute, their first shot of the game would result in a goal. Shortly after that freshman Pauline Passarge and sophomore Ainsley MacKeznie would both get opportunities to score, but both missed over the top. With five minutes left in the half, the Panthers were able to score again, extending their lead to 2-0.

The second half was a strong defensive matchup as there were only five total shots. At the beginning of the half, the Panthers took two shots but freshman goalie Morgan Vanmeter would come up with two saves. In the 75th minute, the Storm got a chance to shoot a close range free kick. Sophomore Leonie Witt would capitalize on this opportunity and score her first goal of the season, to make the score 2-1. This late score would not be enough as the Panthers defense held the Storm for the remaining 15 minutes. 

The Storm will travel to Cedarville, Ohio to play the Yellow Jackets this Wednesday, September 20th at 6pm.
