ERIE, Penn. – The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team took to the road to compete in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) tournament against the #2-seed and #8-ranked Mercyhurst University Lakers. Unlike their last meeting, the Storm were not able to keep the Lakers close and would fall in the contest, 22-8.
Mercyhurst had Lake Erie's number early on, scoring just 30 seconds into the game, and continued to roll, leading 7-1 by the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was no different as they would extend their lead to 15-2 by the end of the half.
The Storm managed to score twice in the third and four times in the fourth, but it would not be enough, and they end their season with a tough loss to Mercyhurst.
Brendan Luthart led Lake Erie with three goals and one assist while Joey Ellison added two goals of his own.
With the loss, the Storm finish the season 7-9 with a 5-3 conference record.
