PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's basketball team faced off against the Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks Saturday, December 16th at home. Despite a solid second half, the Storm fell 78-62. The loss now takes the Storm's record to 1-7 on the year and they remain 0-4 in G-MAC play.
Lake Erie found themselves in a deep hole early against the Redhawks, starting the game down 8-0 and finishing the first quarter down 24-8.
They would play much better defensively in the second quarter, staying even at 15-15. In the second half, they looked strong, shooting over 40% from the field and from deep. Despite the strong effort, they were unable to outscore Roberts Wesleyan and they dropped another contest at home.
Anna Ibos was impressive in the loss, scoring a career-high 21 points and shooting 7-for-13 (53.8%) from the field, 2-for-5 from deep, and a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line.
They will be back in action on Tuesday December 19th on the road at 11 a.m. to face Kent State in an exhibition match.
