INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana -- The Lake Erie men's soccer team competed today in the second round of the 2023 NCAA DII Tournament against the 3-seeded UIndy Greyhounds. It was a tight battle from start to finish but the Storm would drop the matchup, 1-0 to end their season.

To say the first half was a defensive battle would be an understatement. In the first minute of play, Maximilian Lintschinger took a shot for the Storm that would sail far left. This would end up being the only shot taken by either team in the first half, with neither team able to find much offensive success.

In the second half, both teams were able to get off five shots a piece, but in the 74th minute, it was one of UIndy's shots that was able to find the back of the net, giving them a 1-0 lead.

Unfortunately for the Storm, they were unable to respond and would go home with a 1-0 loss.

Lake Erie finishes their season with a 11-7-4 record and a 8-3-3 mark in G-MAC play. To date, their postseason awards include five All-G-MAC selections and they await the results of the regional awards.
