Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Struggles Continue As Storm Fall On Senior Day

PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie women's soccer team battled the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers for another Great Midwest match up this weekend. The Storm were shut out in the match and were only able to attempt two shots, resulting in a 2-0 loss. This loss brings their record to 1-9-1 (0-7 G-MAC).

The Panthers got off to a quick start as in the 10th minute, when their first shot of the game resulted in a goal. They would then attempt two more shots immediately after that, but freshman goalie Morgan Vanmeter would make a save. Freshman Chloe Biddinger attempted the Storm's only shot of the half and missed wide left. Vanmeter made two more saves in the half, to keep the score at 1-0.

The second half started off quiet but the Panthers were able to find the net in the 64th minute to extend their lead. Sophomore Leonie Witt had an opportunity to score in the 72nd minute, but the Panthers goalie made an impressive save to keep the Storm off the board. Only one more shot was attempted by the Panthers in the rest of the match, but it would miss left, resulting in a final score of 2-0.

The Storm will travel to Findlay, Ohio on Wednesday, October 11th to take on the University of Findlay Oilers at 1pm.
