TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Lake Erie women's soccer team took on the Tiffin University Dragons in Tiffin, Ohio for another Great Midwest contest. After a late score from the Dragons the Storm would fall 1-0. The loss brings their record to 1-13-1(0-11 G-MAC).
The Storms offense struggled in the game as they only got off three total shots, all within the first twenty minutes of the first half. These three shots were attempted by sophomore Leonie Witt. After the Storm failed to convert, the Dragons took the opportunity to try and score. However freshman goalie Morgan Vanmeter would make five saves in the half to keep the Dragons off the board. The Dragons held control in the second half and managed to get off 11 shots.
After their first few shots just missed, in the 63rd minute, the Dragons were able to find the net to give them the 1-0 lead. The Dragons had many more opportunities to score in the remainder of the half, but were unable to convert. However, their one goal would be all they would need to win, as the Storm were unable to score.
Lake Erie will be back on their home field on Wednesday, October 25th at 7 p.m. They will be battling the Cedarville Yellow Jackets for the second time this season.
