PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie Storm women's basketball team was back in action for another inner-conference matchup against the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers. Again, the Storm fought tooth-and-nail until the final buzzer of today's matchup. Kentucky Wesleyan would best the Storm by a score of 77-81. Lake Erie would outscore the Panthers in the second half, once again making the necessary adjustments to keep them in this game.
The Storm were led by the duo of senior forward Abby Matalavage and senior guard Sydney Wyndargden. Matalavage would best her previous career high in points by two, posting 33 on the afternoon. She would also finish with six rebounds and four assists in just 33 minutes of play on her career day. Wyngarden contributed a solid 14 points, three of the team's five total steals, three rebounds, and two assists. Senior guard Angela Fink stuffed the stat sheet in today's game. Fink would post a near double-double with seven points and nine assists while adding in two blocks, two steals, and three rebounds on the day.
Lake Erie ended the game shooting an impressive 29-54 from the field at 53.7%. The Storm would end the game going 7-16 from behind the arch shooting 43.8% from the three point. With the continued coaches adjustments, solid shooting percentage, and clutch second half defense down the stretch, Lake Erie continues to impress this season.

Angela Fink leads the GMAC conference in assists per game with 5.5 per contest.
Abby Matalavage is currently second in points per game in the GMAC conference averaging 19.5 per game.
The Storm return to action on Thursday, February 2nd, for a home conference matchup against the University of Findlay Oilers. Tip off starts at 5:30 with the men's team to follow.
