Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's soccer team took on the Ashland Eagles, Saturday, September 24 at home for a Great Midwest Athletic Conference matchup. The Storm would fall to the Eagles, 3-2 in the match.
The Storm would get off to a hot start in the match as Teddy Baker would find Connor Mautino for a score, just 2:34 into the game.
Ashland would proceed to earn two yellow cards in the next 25 minutes, which would be two of their five on day with both teams combining for eight.
The Eagles would then tie the game up at the 31:34 mark and proceed to earn two more yellow cards before Connor Mautino would score again before the end of the half, this time assisted by Tomas Fernandez.
Ashland would soon take control of the game in the second half and score at the 69:54 mark. They would then capitalize on a penalty shot shortly after at 70:39 to give them the lead and seal the victory for them.
The loss takes the Storm's record to 1-6-2 on the season while they fall to 0-4-1 in conference play. Lake Erie will be back in action on Thursday, September 29 on the road as they take on Trevecca Nazarene at 8:00 PM.
