Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down the Cedarville Yellow Jackets Feb. 7, 86-83 in Cedarville, Ohio. The victory marks the Storm's second consecutive win and puts them back in the win column with a record of 10-9 and 4-8 in conference play.
The matchup was fought tightly throughout the night, neither team was able to pull too far away from the other. The Storm were able to knock down five three-pointers in the first half including one by Kevin Peterson who contributed six points and seven rebounds during the tightly contested half.
The second half was much of the same story for Lake Erie, who hit five more three-pointers and knocked down 55.6% (15-27) of their shots. The Storm had three players score double digits in the half, led by Jordan Burton with 17.
On the night, Burton would finish out with 22 points, followed closely behind by Jackson Burdysha (21) and Jacob Plantz (15).
The Storm currently sit at eighth place in the conference, five games behind Cedarville for the 6th and final tournament seed. With seven games remaining in the season, they will have their work cut out for them if they wish to make a run.
Lake Erie will be back in action on Feb. 8 at 5:30 PM at home against Cedarville to start a three-game home stretch that includes matchups with 10th seed Ohio Dominican and third seed Hillsdale.
