Box Score PAINESVILLE – The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball team took down the Ohio Dominican Panthers Feb. 12, 60-57 in Painesville, Ohio on senior night. The victory marks the Storm's fourth consecutive win and improves their record to 12-9 and 6-8 in conference play.
Momentum shifted back and forth the entire contest, with the Storm grabbing some early by starting the game with a 12-4 run before coming back down to earth and playing a close contest the rest of the match.
On the day the Storm shot efficiently, going 24-58 (41.4%) from the field and 8-25 (32%) from beyond the arc.
Leon Hughes (13), Kevin Peterson (13), Jackson Burdyshaw (11), and Jordan Burton (11) would lead the way for the Storm as all scored in double digits and between them would shoot 45.2% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc. Peterson would add eight rebounds while Burton would tally three steals.
The Storm currently sit at seventh place in the conference, three games behind Cedarville for the 6th and final tournament seed. With five games remaining in the season, they will have their work cut out for them if they wish to make a run.
Lake Erie will be back in action on Feb. 15 at 5:30 PM at home against Hillsdale.
