Box Score CANTON, Ohio -- The Storm women's basketball team traveled to Malone University to take on the Pioneers for their third conference game. The Storm were unable to best the Pioneers, and were outshot by Malone's field goal percentage of over 50%.
Sophomore guard Aislyn Hurst led the Storm for the night, putting up a solid 15 points. Hurst also played strong defense, completing three steals and two rebounds. Senior guard Angela Fink was another key player for Storm offense and defense. Fink put up 12 points along with three steals and a block. Senior guard Sydney Wyngarden also helped the Storm's offense by putting up 10 points and securing five rebounds. Senior forward/guard Abby Matalavage was the leader in assists with six, helping her team fight on.
While the Storm could not outshoot the Pioneers, they still managed a 46.4 field goal percentage. The Storm also shot an impressive 3-point percentage of 47.4%. While they continued to excel on offense, they could not hold a strong enough defense to hold off the Pioneers.
The Storm return to their home court on Saturday, December 10th to host the Mercyhurst Lakers at 1:00 PM.
