Box Score CLARION, Penn. – The Lake Erie College Storm men's basketball traveled to Clarion, Pennsylvania to take on the Clarion Golden Eagles on December 10. The Storm would fight hard in the contest and earn the victory, 77-70.
Lake Erie would go into halftime with a one-point lead but would surrender it early in the second half with Clarion in the driver's seat most of the way. With 1:50 remaining in the contest, the Storm would finally regain the lead with a shot drilled from beyond the arc by Caleb Piks to put them up 69-66. From there on, it was all Lake Erie basketball. They would keep control of the game and finish off with a 77-70 victory.
Despite a cold second half from deep, the three-ball was a big part of the Storm's success as they hit seven out of their twelve shots in the first half and finished the night shooting 47.1% from that range. The Storm would also man the Golden Eagles in the paint by grabbing 43 rebounds compared to Clarion's 30.
Jonny Manning would record a double-double in the contest, scoring 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jordan Burge would also impress with 16 points of his own and 7-12 shooting.
The game takes the Storm's record above .500 for the first time this season as they now sit at 5-4 on with a 2-1 record in conference play. They will suit up again on Wednesday, December 14 at 6:00 PM on the road against the Walsh Cavaliers.
