Box Score ROCHESTER, New York – The Storm women's basketball team traveled to Roberts Wesleyan University to take on the Redhawks for another non-conference matchup. The Storm took down the Redhawks after keeping the lead for almost the entire game. The Redhawks tried to make a comeback, but the Storm took the game 85-66 after playing exceptional offense and defense.
Senior guard/forward Abby Matalavage continues to be a key player for the Storm's offense. Matalavage recorded 29 points with seven rebounds. Not only did she shoot an efficient 12-17, but she also set her career high in points. Senior guard Sydney Wyngarden was another strong asset for the Storm, as she tallied 18 points with six rebounds. Other notables are sophomore guard Taylor Thomas with 17 points, setting her career high as well. Senior guard Angela Fink had nine rebounds and nine assists. Fink was also a crucial aspect for the Storm's defense, picking up a steal and two blocks. Thomas contributed to the defense with two steals of her own. Sophomore guard Anna Ibos added eight rebounds in 17 minutes coming off the bench for the Storm.
The Redhawks trailed behind the Storm for the majority of the game, trying to fight their way back. The Storm outshot the Redhawks all night. Strong offense and consistent shooting led to the Storm's efficient 50% field goal percentage. The Redhawk's 37.1% field goal percentage could not compete.
The Storm return to their home court to host the Ursuline College Arrows on Thursday, December 1st with tip-off set at 6:00 PM.
