Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College Storm football team hosted the Northern Michigan Wildcats Saturday, November 12. The Storm came out flat and fell 33-11 in the contest.
It wasn't a pretty start to the game for the Storm as they struggled to get a rhythm going and make big plays when they needed to. Despite the offensive struggles, the Storm defense would hold and keep Lake Erie in the game.
Northern Michigan would jump out to an early 6-0 lead after missing the extra point and would extend the lead to 12-0 by the end of the first quarter while again missing the point after, this time a two-point conversion try.
Lake Erie would finally get on the board as time expired at the end of the first half, with freshman Nathan Tager nailing a 49-yard field goal, the second-longest in Storm history and one-yard short of the program record.
With a manageable deficit going into the second half, the Storm would look to turn things around. Unfortunately, Northern Michigan would return the opening kickoff for a touchdown and score again on their first offensive drive of the half, putting them up 26-3 early with plenty of time to go.
The Storm would finally get some more points early on in the fourth quarter when Tyrese Pearson would take down the Wildcats' running back in the end zone for a safety.
A failed offensive drive and a few minutes later, the WildcatDominique s would score another touchdown on a 61-yard play, extending their lead to 33-5.
Lake Erie would finally score a touchdown with about six minutes remaining in the game as Xeavier Bullock took the ball left for a 13-yard rushing touchdown.
The Storm would be unable to score again and they would finish the contest with a 33-11 loss.
Altwjuan Beck-Lindsey would impress in a productive game for the Storm by tallying 81 yards on the ground on 15 attempts, while Jovohn Tucker would rack up 94 receiving yards in 5 receptions.
Defensively, Keimonnee Fields would lead the team with seven tackles including three tackles for loss and one sack.
The loss finishes the Storm's season with a final record of 3-8 and a 3-5 conference record. Although the Storm took a step back this season in terms of overall record, it was a positive forward direction for the program as they stayed competitive all season and continued to build the brand of Storm football under coach Demir Boldin.
